CENOTAPH...

- LEST WE FORGET -

2020

A different atmosphere due to Covid, but 20 plus scooters turned up social distancing, the ceremony was as previous years, Tony then played the pipes for us, despite just coming out of hospital. Pictures above, unable to upload the video's as they are too big for the site! But they are on Facebook.

2019

We was so lucky to have two pipers this year, Tony brought along one of his band friends, Roy. I have left Tony's story on from last year. The British Legion also joined us along with club non members, who where most welcome. Thanks to the people who sent me the picture to put on the site.

"Dad "Tony Kelly" served in the RAF for 23 years from leaving school. He ended as Chief Flight Technician and  was responsible for a Victor Tanker aircraft which undertook mid flight refuelling of smaller aircraft. This piece of music was “A Scottish Soldier” which led into “The Battles O’er” which was quite appropriate as dad is a very proud Scotsman.
Dad has been a piper his whole life but has only recently joined Scunthorpe Pipe Band.

The pictures which I copied are not of high enough quality, so I have copied the links to all the facebook pages, so you can view them.
